When experimenting with the camera, I realised I could get the exact effect I wanted; I could focus on either the singer in the foreground OR the dancer in the background individually whilst the other sayed blurred. I practiced this on this different scales, first trying with small close objects and then with large objects.

Magazine Advert Research
The image in the back background not only represents the theme of the album and the songs on it, showing a small boy wondering around, not knowing "where [to] go", but it also refects the image used on the album cover to make sure they link and making sure they are recognisable. To add to this house theme, they also used the same fonts and colours; this is something I would like to keep the same throughout my video, digipak and poster to make sure these all link together aswell.
I like the concept of both adverts; including only one colour on top of the black and white image, red being associated with rock music alot. This unfortunated would not be suitable for my advert as I wanted the whole image of the artist to be colourful and bold rather than simple like these adverts.
This advert is actually just an image of the album cover with a small amount of text underneath just to explain that it is out now. It covers the name of the band and album and does not need to say much else so I think that it is successful.
The whole advert is made up of pastel colours. This suits the theme of the of the album and the band as I think the style of music, alternative rock, is similarly simple and quite dull. It's also a unique look for an advert rather than an extravegant, colourful page for a pop artist. I would like to take inspiration from this as I would also like my advert to be quirky to suit the style of music but to bring in a more colourful look so will link to the theme of the video.
Digipak Research
Along with the music video, I also need to design a Digipak to go along with the promo and the single, in this case, for Katy B's song On A Mission.
A digipak is basically a paperback version of the more commonly seen jewel cases. The have at least 4 panels, simply folded in half but can be more creative and intricate, incorperating more plastic trays for space to hold more than one disk and other panels for images and text.
Rihannas album cover is very simple, only including a photo of herself, set in the costume and setting that her song is, just the letter R assuming that people know who she is anyway, and the name of the song printed onto her arm, tattoos being popular amungst her young target audience and to show the passion she has for her music.
I am going to take alot of inspiration from this album cover because I think it effectively presents the artist as a fun, artistic artist and suits the song that I have chosen as it is just as lively and upbeat. I would also like to include various colours, nice clothes, the artist posing and shapes that make the album cover look girly and bubbly.

Styling Research
I found a trends section on the online clothes shop called Asos which includes lots of pictures from recent catwalks and photoshoots including clothes that have become very popular. I have then compared these styles to clothes from the new in section on the topshop website to see if these looks are sold on the high streets currently and how people are wearing them.
I made this mood board by taking photos of groups of clothes from my own wardrobe that fell under the different categories in the "trends" page I found on the Asos website.
As you can see from this mood board, there are alot of different colours. I want this to be the main theme of the video; as long as she looks bright and cheerful compared to the gloomy setting and colours in the background, I will sucessfully have the effect I want and this won't be hard with the mixture of colours I have in my wardrobe.
I'd like to cover all of these different styles throughout the video, mixing them together to form a unique style and making sure it doesn't target just one of these groups. For each time I change the location of the shot I will change her outfit.
Cher Lloyd has a style that is an example of this; not just sticking to one style, wearing all sorts of clothes together that people wouldn't think to put together. I would like to try and acheive a look like hers in my video.
Here is a link to my Pinterest mood board summarising Cher Lloyd's fashion sense and demonstrating the look I am taking instpiartion from http://pinterest.com/vickyginge/cher-lloyd/

Timeline Analysis
SLOW MOTION
0:03 In this room of darkness I ain't undercover fade in from black, as she leaves house?
That won't stop my prowess rubbing off on to another pan up of clothes, not face yet
Elevating higher as my body's moving lower
Now I've reached my element you better move over close up of lips singing
But he doesn't he blocks my way continue pan but from side till face
I try to push past but he wants to play smirks
So I sip his drink as I hold his gaze close up of face from front looking down smirking, looks forward, looks to the side
build up car going past- tracking round to chloe on street again
Ooh close up, nods head back and says oh
0:31 feet step in time with the beat, close up of shoes
When we erupt in to the room medium close up, lip syncing
And hear the sub go boom
A feeling easy to resume
This points as floor right here I swear 1.arm movement, bend in legs will end too soon
So I sink in to the tune medium close up from side, breathes in deeply
As I inhale the fume sighs
A feeling easy to resume looks down
END SLOW MOTION This points at floor right here I swear arm movement, leg bend will end to soon both with backing dancer
(This right here I swear will end to soon)
SLOW MO 2.coreography behind her, moving down street END SLOW MO
My limbs seem to move what the beat dictates to me
I push into the middle the sound becomes a part of me
Taking me back 3.pause, point up pose with dancer to that sweet familiarity
Making my adrenalin rise I feel the eyes on me stroking body upwards till arms above head
SLOW MOTION Sip the bottle now don't be slow crouches, looking into camera close up
Keep up with me as we lose control side on, medium close up of face
Keep up with me as we lose control side on, wide angle, walking dancer behind
from behind, slightly to side, turns head after person walks past, END SLOW MOTION
calmer chorus 1:53
Oh jump jump with arms up and pump as drop with beats with dancer behind
When we erupt in to the room lip syncing, medium close up, diagonally on
And hear the sub go boom ripple movement repeated in time to "boOoOoom"
A feeling easy to resume
This right here I swear will end too soon
So I sink in to the tune
As I inhale the fume
A feeling easy to resume
This right here I swear will end to soon
(This right here I swear will end to soon)
build up to last chorus 2:21-2:48
no more lip syncing, entering party and meeting friends
When we erupt in to the room
And hear the sub go boom
A feeling easy to resume
This right here I swear will end too soon
last beat 3:12 camera moves away, chloe posing still (same pose as earlier)

FEASABILITY STUDY
I will be filming in a variety of places, all alley ways/run down streets to give the effect of it being an urban area (all are within walking distance of both our houses and school);
Artist
My best friend Chloe Hickman will be starring in my video. Not only is she the right character I wanted for my video, being a confident, fashionable female, but she will also be available as much as I am and we will easily be able to go out together to film.
She is also a dancer so I am going to coreograph some dance moves for her to do at certain points of the song.

Props/costumes
The costumes will all be from my own and Chloe's wardrobe as together we have a great combination of colourful, "in" clothes. This is useful as I can change the outfits as much as I want and have total access to both wardrobes.
I'd also like her to wear high heels to show consideration of the "Male Gaze", the effect the heels have on the way she walks and how mature she looks.

Location
I will be filming in a variety of places, all alley ways/run down streets to give the effect of it being an urban area (all are within walking distance of both our houses and school);- Alley way between West End Road shops and Ruislip High school- Easy to get to, unrestriced, quiet, will include a metal fence and garages
- Focus car park, Victoria Road, South Ruislip- Shut down, closed off to cars but accessable to people, graffitti around
- Alley way behind Bevely Road houses- Brick walls to film against.
- Back road behind South Ruislip Retail Park- Open road, lots of large buildings around, not many cars
Equipment
I would like to have a smooth tracking of Chloe as she moves, in order to acheive this I should use some kind of dolly/stand with wheels.
I would also like to end the video using stage lighting to give the effect of her disappearing off onto stage to perform. I know that there is a church hall a few bus stops away that has these lights so I will be contacting someone there to find out if I would be able to use them.
